Above is an image of actress Ali Baynes. Ali has been a Taft Club collaborator since 1999 when she was on the Taft Club pioneering reality show that ran for ten years in the 90s called Video Diary NYC.
If you are fan of TAFT Club (creative collaborating since 1982) then you know that it was founded in the early 80s by Yianni Stamas on the Zoetrope Studios where he was working as the assistant to August Coppola in the education department.
A key phrase for TAFT Club collaborators is “True Art for Truth”.
Yianni came up with the idea that the TAFT in Taft Club was an acronym for “True Art for Truth” partially because his boss August’s son Nicolas Cage was featured in the TAFT Club video and Super 8 motion picture known as “Son of Johnny Rave” and was filmed in a combination community college science lab and mini TV studio located in, yes you guessed it, a California town called…Taft! Coincidence?
Yianni believes strongly that it is vital that creatives follow their own unique emotional connection to their creativity.
Sounds obvious but without authenticity of one’s own full giving over to what differentiates themselves from others, they will not be coming from a true place of their own “True Art for Truth”.
In short if you are a performing artist creator who aspires to create “True Art for Truth”, then “fully be you” when you make art!
Do you practice “Fully Be You” in your own work as an artist?
The “Fully Be You” concept is a big part of the screenplay storyline for the movie that TAFT Club is currently making called “Dr. Wacko” which is the sequel to “Son of Johnny Rave”. It will be premiered in conjunction with the Entertainment Industry Awards.
